CCSD Schools Recognized as Georgia Math, Literacy Leaders

CCSD Schools Recognized as Georgia Math, Literacy Leaders

Sixteen Cherokee County School District schools have earned statewide honors in recognition of exceptional student success in mastering core academic skills!

The Literacy Leader and Math Leader honors recognize schools for exceptional student achievement, growth, or both on the annual Georgia Milestones Assessment end-of-grade or end-of-course assessments.  The Georgia Department of Education criteria focus on grade-level reading in third and sixth grades and numeracy skills in fifth and eighth grades.  Fourteen CCSD schools are among the 479 statewide to be named 2024-2025 Math Leaders, with three CCSD schools among the 406 honored statewide as 2024-2025 Literacy Leaders.  Mill Creek Middle School received both literacy and math honors!  The total number of CCSD schools honored also increased by one from last school year.

Congratulations to our teachers and support staff for their dedicated work with our students to achieve this success and thank you to our School Board for its laser focus on ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else!
