Celebrating CCSD Bus Driver Appreciation Week: Wanda Fowler of the Creekview Zone!

It’s National Bus Safety Week and CCSD Bus Driver Appreciation Week!  Our talented and dedicated team of school bus drivers carry the most precious cargo each day to help our students learn more, grow more, and achieve more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else.  This week, we’re celebrating our bus drivers by spotlighting one of our Transportation Employee of the Year Award winners each day.  Please join us in thanking CCSD and Creekview Zone Transportation Employee of the Year Wanda Fowler! 

A 17-year CCSD school bus driver, Ms. Fowler drives routes for Macedonia ES, Creekland MS, and Creekview HS.  

What do you find most rewarding about your job?
The lasting friendships I have made with other drivers.  I can't say enough about my students and their families -- some I am still in contact with from years ago.  Actually, I attended a wedding recently for a former student and now good friend.

How do you elevate the excellence on your bus?
Learn your students and correspond with them based on their personality. Speak kindly, but firmly, and always stick by what you tell them. Safety always first!
