Macedonia Elementary School cut the ribbon to open its new playground last week, celebrating several years of work by the PTA and school partners to raise money for the new structure. PTA officers Teresa Insalaca, Jessica Talbert, Andi Cheatwood, Jodi Frank, Tonia Reeves and Chelle Brown joined Principal Dr. Carrie O’Bryant and Assistant Principals Pamela Estes and Melissa Venezia, along with mascot Whiskers for the grand opening. Retired Principal Christy Rich and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian Hightower also attended the event. Kindergarten classes tried out the new play structure on a sunny Friday morning after the ribbon cutting.
