Macedonia Elementary School Principal Dr. Carrie O’Bryant

Why did you choose to become a Principal? 
I became a principal because of my deep love for kids, teachers, and families, and my desire to help students achieve their fullest potential.  I believe that every child has the ability to succeed and do anything they choose, and I wanted to be in a position where I could make a significant impact on their lives.  Additionally, I have a passion for supporting teachers, knowing that their growth and well-being directly influence the success of our students.  Being a principal allows me to help create a nurturing and empowering environment for both students and teachers, fostering a community where everyone can thrive.

What inspires you in your work as a Principal? 
As a principal, I am continually inspired by the magical moments when kids learn something new and their faces light up with excitement and pride.  Celebrating these achievements with students brings immense joy and reinforces the importance of our work.  I also find great fulfillment in supporting teachers through tough situations, knowing that my guidance can help them overcome challenges and continue to inspire their students. Helping parents navigate their child’s education is also incredibly rewarding, as it strengthens the partnership between home and school, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to succeed. 

How are you Elevating the Excellence in your school? 
I am elevating the excellence in our school by fostering a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.  I try to lead by example by demonstrating a commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.  By providing teachers with the resources, support, and professional development they need, I aim to empower educators to deliver high-quality instruction.  I also work to create an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel valued and motivated to achieve their best.  Through strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and strong communication with all stakeholders, I strive to ensure that the school community works collaboratively toward shared goals, ultimately driving academic success and personal growth for every student.
