Safety and Security Updates

  • Resource officers now have body cameras.

  • MES shares a resource officer with Avery Elementary.

  • Camera system updated to allow surveillance access by the Sheriff’s Office.

  • Stop-sign cameras will be installed on buses.

  • Exterior windows have protective film to slow entry.

  • State-mandated safety drills are conducted monthly.

  • ParentSquare communication will be sent during Code Yellow or Code Red events.

  • Codes and response procedures were explained.

  • Reunification site: Woodstock First Baptist Church.

A: Cameras are located throughout campus with two-way and three-way angle adjustments.

Q: Are students informed about camera locations?
A: Yes, students are aware.

Staffing Updates

  • New cafeteria worker joined MES.

  • Custodian position currently open.

  • Allotments for next school year will be received after winter break.

  • Classroom rosters will be finalized in April.

    • Parent requests are denied unless there is a legitimate reason.

  • Enrollment is decreasing.

  • MES is open for reassignment.


Benchmarks & Academic Updates

  • Winter benchmarks are guiding second semester instruction.

  • MES has maintained an “A” rating for the past two years.

  • Another meeting will occur prior to Milestones testing and end-of-year benchmarks.


Yearly Events & Celebrations

  • Reading Bowl rescheduled.

  • STEM Night – February 10, 2026.

  • Macedonia with Dads – Split by grade level due to vetting process.

  • Science Olympiad – Upcoming.

  • Students earned placements at the state level in multiple fairs.
